Hi, I'm Kristel - Founder of Lemani Hair and Extensions
For over 30 years, hairdressing has been so much more than a career for me. It has been my passion, my creative outlet, and my way of helping women feel confident, beautiful, and empowered.
When I opened Lemani, my vision was simple: create a salon where women could come not only for incredible hair but for an experience that makes them feel genuinely cared for. A place where education, excellence, and confidence are at the heart of everything we do.
One of the things I'm most proud of throughout my career is mentoring and training the next generation of hairdressers. Watching apprentices grow into confident stylists is one of the most rewarding parts of what I do. Education has always been a huge part of my journey, and I'm committed to ensuring both myself and my team continue learning and evolving with our industry.
My passion for helping women feel confident became even stronger after my own breast cancer journey. Experiencing hair loss firsthand gave me a deeper understanding of how closely our hair is tied to our identity, confidence, and self-esteem. I know what it feels like to look in the mirror and not like what you see. I know how emotional that journey can be.
That's why helping women feel beautiful and empowered means so much to me. Every woman deserves to feel beautiful, empowered, and truly seen, and I feel incredibly grateful that I get to be part of that journey every single day.

Cooking. I love creating something delicious and sharing it with the people around me.

What do you love most about hairdressing?
Creating incredible makeovers and helping clients see a whole new version of themselves. I also love that Lemani is different from other salons. We focus on creating real confidence and truly personalised results.

What’s your favourite thing about working at Lemani with Kristel?
Kristel is incredibly generous, supportive and driven. She genuinely wants the best for her team and is always pushing the salon forward while bringing everyone along for the journey.

Organised, spontaneous and adventurous.
Favourite outdoor activity?
Tennis or hiking. If there’s fresh air, movement and a bit of adventure involved, I’m in.
Favourite indoor activity?
Online shopping. Adding things to cart is basically a hobby at this point.
Favourite morning drink?
Water. Simple but effective.
Favourite drink after 5pm?
A Macca’s Sprite.
What do you love most about hairdressing?
Restoring confidence. I love watching my clients’ smiles grow throughout their appointment and knowing I’ve helped them feel amazing about themselves.
What sets you apart as a stylist?
My attention to detail. I love clean sections, even coverage and symmetry. I’m also passionate about educating clients on home care so they can keep their hair looking beautiful long after they leave the salon.

Heading out with a big group of friends and enjoying good food, good company and plenty of laughs.

Catching up on all things beauty, fashion and hair inspiration.

What do you love most about hairdressing?
Building genuine relationships with my clients so they can trust me to bring their hair goals to life. There’s nothing better than helping someone achieve their dream hair and seeing their confidence shine through.

Visiting petting zoos. There’s something about spending time with animals that instantly makes me happy.

What do you love most about hairdressing?
Helping clients feel beautiful, confident and completely in love with their hair. Seeing that smile at the end of an appointment is the best feeling.

Water skiing. I love being out on the water and making the most of sunny days.

Baking. There’s something so rewarding about creating sweet treats from scratch.

An iced chocolate.

Raspberry vodka… or water, depending on the day.
What do you love most about hairdressing?
I love foiling because there are so many possibilities. Whether it’s adding dimension, creating a soft lived-in look or helping someone achieve their dream blonde, every result is unique. Seeing the finished result after working hard to create something both the client and I love is incredibly rewarding.

Walking in nature and going for hikes. I love getting outdoors, moving my body and enjoying some fresh air.

The gym and sauna. Looking after my health and wellbeing is a big part of my routine.

What do you love most about hairdressing? Blow-drying and styling long hair. There’s something so satisfying about seeing hair transformed with a beautiful, bouncy finish and helping clients leave feeling confident and glamorous.
